Chris Mellor and Denise Mason, daughters of the late Harry and Barbara Wilkson have placed a memorial bench next to the year 2000 commorative stone. The plaque reads ‘ In loving memory of Barbara and Harry Wilkson of Ivy Farm and The Orchard, who loved this view.’
The beer festival and Flagg Moor Run were held on Friday the 22nd of August 2025 when nearly 100 runners tackled the 5.5 mile route taking the runners off road as much as possible from Flagg through the fields, lanes and country roads towards Pomeroy, Chelmorton and a nice steady down hill mile and half back to the village.
The beer festival was well attended offering beers from Buxton Brewery, Thornbridge Brewery and Thornsett Brewery, plus an array of other alcolholic and soft drinks, and a lovely BBQ.
Thank you to all who attended and helped, and of course not forgetting all the generous sponsors who helped contribute to another successful event.
Next year’s event is already planned for Friday the 14th of August 2026!
This event is an independent community initiative and not directly associated with Flagg Parish Council, nor its members. Its purpose is to bring the community of Flagg together in a social setting whilst raising funds for local causes including Flagg Village Hall.
To mark the Coronation, Flagg Parish Council provided the children of Flagg with a souvenir mug. A nice addition for those who last year received a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee souvenir mug.
